Its my mums 50th birthday soon and was hoping to buy her tickets for a really good equestrian event anytime this yr. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can be anywhere in UK or even europe? Thanks!

Depends a lot on what she likes

Badders and Olympia are my faves!

Olympia is my favorite. But also enjoy the big Agricultural Show. IMO The Royal Welsh is the best. You could always take her for more than one day and stay down there.

Olympia at Christmas or one of the 3 day events - I like Blenheim, it's less busy than Badminton. Hickstead is good in the summer if you like show jumping (they have dressage there too).

The Royal International @ Hickstead is my personal fave! lots going on in all rings, whether you like showjumpin, eventing, showing or dressage! And lots of shopping too!

The ROyal Show at Stoneleigh is a nice outdoor show (July). Royal WIndsor is also great fun (May). RIHS at the end of July has something for everyone. HOYS (October) is indoors and has good shopping and lots to see. Olympia (December) is all round family entertainment.

Then of course there are all the 3 day events.

Depends on what she would want to see as to which would be the best.

You can (and can get a good deal as well), but the weather has been awful there for a few years, and you may be better off waiting.

You can get members tickets and be able to go into the members enclosure which is very pleasant.

If you are near Stafford go to Scope/Festival of Showjumping. It is fab, you have all the top riders there and it is completly free to go and watch.
