i know of a few good vets u can try our vet she lives in rotherham but will travel shes called Gonda (think shes Swedish lol) pm me if u want number?

Simon Stirk at Ripon is a specialist Equine Vet. I personally Use Keith Hughes from Westwood Veterinary Practice in Boston Spa nr Wetherby. He is very good and does all our vettings but Doncaster would be pretty expensive distance wise.

There are also Minster Vets based in York.

I can also vouch for Simon Stirk (or anyone from the practice) and also Minster vets in York but I think looking at recommendations from nearer would be better as North Yorks is quite a way from Doncaster.

You could try Hird & Partners in Halifax. Their specialist equine surgey/vets are based in Shelf. Don't know if they travel as far as Doncaster, but worth a phone call. Head equine vet Peter Scholefield is fantastic and very down to earth.

Have you thought about Wicstun vets in Market Weighton? I use them and they are not as far away as some of the others mentionned.

Which would be the most local but still very good?

Sorry if that sounds strange, but I have no idea of distances at all how far away are the local ones?

Moorhouse at Doncaster are good, your at Rawcliffe Bridge which is the next village to me (Rawcliffe) so hello there!!!!!!!!!

Anyway they do or did do a clinic on Mondays where a vet only does our area (Jess I think)...so it works out cheaper so there not doing a special mid week trip, and there not too pricey too.

Rodi is great from Goole we've used him on our horses for the past 16 years and never had any complaints with him and he seems to know his stuff even though he's not what you'd call a 'horse vet'..but I'd only trust Rodi.

Hope you get sorted, heard that Minster are good too.

I agree with Dingle12. Phil Dixon has a superb reputation and wont let you down. He can get quite busy though.

I agree with dingle12, Phil Dixon from churchfield would be very thorough, But there is Rainbow Equine at Malton North Yorkshire ask for Yi Pritchard he is a fantastic vet, it may work out cheaper for you if the seller takes it up to Rainbow as they will vet a the practice and they are very well equipped that if the horse needed x rays for any reason they will do it there and then, Yi is a fantastic vet, hope i have spelled his name right i can pronounce it but cant spell it (he is welsh)!
