I'm waiting on the phone call from the vet, but could be a while.

Horse done something to himself, and managed to break splint bone (I think). Vet would like to get him into surgery, and clean out infected bits.

Just wondering how much its likely to cost, for the insurance

Mine broke a front splint bone in 2007 and had the operation.

As I recall, I think the bill came in at 1.5k - including diagnostics (xrays and ultrasound, operation and GA, hospital stay and aftercare.

The good news is that he made a 100% recovery and it has never bothered him again.

my mare had a operation where she broke her splint bone so badly they had to remove the splint bone. from the first lameness visit to Ga and surgery to last dressing change it came to just under £4000
