Can field rest cure ulcers? I have a horse who is completely sound but I believe that through unfortunate events has now got ulcers that we can’t seem to fully clear up. I am in a vicious circle and I don’t have unlimited funds.

Any experience on field test curing Ulcers?

There's a really good podcast I just listened to by one of the world's leading experts in ulcers- it’s available on 'Straight From the Horse Doctor's Mouth'. I think it will help- they look at several pieces of research and the implications of different management systems

No I think horses with persistent ulcers have a problem you have not found.
Many things give horses a persistent pain that don’t show on even the most comprehensive work ups I had an experience with this in Lovely horse.
However what have you got to lose by giving the horse a period of field rest .

If the horse is getting ulcers from pain of being rode / stress / excitement field rest will help. my friends horse had them from hock problems and my horse from stifle problems, both horses looked sound though. it can be tricky finding what caused them. have a look at ponease we used the ulc fix and my horse scoped clear. i couldnt afford any more vets medicines. they were great helping to
