Hi
So I really want a pair of tall boots, they look smart and the field boots and suede chaps looks slightly stupid on my 16.2. My parents said they would get me tall boots for my birthday which is coming up but I have heard rumours that I can't compete in them until I'm 16??? I have looked everywhere on the internet and nothing comes up? Does anyone know anything about age minimums?? Thanks :)

You would need to contact the relevant show/class/competition/pony club organisers to confirm the dress attire required for any particular event in case they have specific regulations.

However, I competed in long boots younger than you, but then again I also competed in short boots with chaps. I'd still wear short boots and chaps as unless you've really, really broken in long boots, ankle flexibilty is restricted which can interfere with aids.

What is most important is riding correctly and efficiently, not the foot/leg wear. Good riding is what catches the eye.
