I have been looking at all the "Am I too big" posts and now I am worrying too. Please can you give your opinions? I am not pregnant, just fat, and am too embarassed to say how much I weigh, suffice to say it is a lot. I am trying to diet and, after seeing this photo which was taken yesterday, I am determined to suceed this time.

I don't think you're too big no, can't tell too much but horse doesn't look unhappy so I wouldn't worry. And don't want to sound mean (I don't mean to!!!) but at least the horse is of the more weight carrying kind and not a spindly legged TB.

Well, you are most certainly not the biggest lady I have seen on a horse, and your horse looks to me as though he/she is well up to your weight and length of leg.
Lovely type of horse too!

Positive vibes to you to help with your diet, go for it!

Thank you both! I realise that I may get a lot of negative comments but it is nice to have two positive ones to start with. I hope to post some pics of me looking slimmer in a few months.

Def not too big. As above re type of horse and you both look comfy. Lovely horse - I usually like tb types but yours is lovely.

beautiful horse - and you are in no way too big!!!

Good luck with the diet - I've been going for a year now after hormone tablets made me not oo big for my boy but worried about how my wieght was affecting his way of going - it was a great motivator... But your definately not too big - he looks perfectly happy carrying you!!

No you're not too big for that horse, she's got a good length of back to carry your weight and decent bone. She looks lovely, do you show with her? Highland pony by any chance?

I can't believe I've not had any negative comments yet. I have prepared myself for them, honestly.

Silverspring - yes, she's a Highland and I do show her!

I love your cob. You look fab on it.
I don't wish to sound horrible, especially i have grown outwards

Highlands were bred to carry shot stags down the hill. I would think you weigh less than a full grown stag.

PS I don't look like a supermodel either but would think your horse could carry me.

No you are not too big, the type of horse you have and its build means that it can carry you without a problem.
Stop worrying!!!!

Nope - look great together!

It does worry you though doesn't it!? THats why I did mine, I suddenly thought that it was something I had never even thought about, and then looked at some photos!

Lovely hossie - want to swop!?

Yip up to 16 stone dead weight stags, I think they can cope easily with up to 15 stone of none dead weight rider

I used to have a Highland pony and he was the bestest in the land, did absolutely everything with his ears pircked eager for more! I do miss him so much

No you are not too big.

Of course you and the pony might see advantages if you lost some weight (I can say this I think because I am a very similar size and shape to you but slightly taller and have a similarly built pony) but unless you are thinking about taking up serious endurance or other very active pursuits your pony will cope easily.

My motivation at the moment is to lose weight to cut a slightly more elegant figure in the showing ring - how shallow is that?

Gorgeous gorgeous pony. I just knew she was a Highland, I have a Highland x myself.

I read in a magazine, cant remember which, but it was a section on rare breeds and it said that a hihgland can carry a 20 stone stag. You are definitely not anywhere near 20!!

You both look comfortable and happy.

She is lovely, you are lucky.

Whoever said about having a HHO weight watchers - its a great idea.

I am on diet pills as I have an underactive thyroid and am now a good doer. Just looking at food and I can feel those pounds piling on.

No, you're fine. your pony has plenty of bone and can easily carry your weight, whatever it is!
I am one of the most vociferous and honest people when it comes to the "am i too big" posts, but you are fine on him/her.
btw, if you are serious about losing weight, Neris and India's Idiot-Proof Diet truly is a Thing Of Magic. pm me for more deets if you want, or just go and buy the pink book and get stuck in! i was stuck for years weighing more than i wanted to, this truly has changed my life and my shape.

Losing weight to ride was the best motivation I ever had! I'm still not at my goal weight but have been light enough to ride again for 6 months now

Nope- When i was 15 stone my 15hh coblet could still cart us both along and my 16 stone OH adores hunting our 14.3hh cob- they will stay out all day and never miss their turn over the biggest jumps!

Not at all. Lovely horsey. I'm no expert but your riding may improve if you try opening your eyes

Although I apologise if you're approaching a fence - it's exactly what I do too...
