I've just been given a Mark Todd Charisma saddle (jumping saddle) wanted a GP really but can't be ungrateful!

I used to ride my mare in a GP Wintec which I never really got on with, I love my Mark Todd saddle and do all my hacking, schooling and jumping in it and its great.
I'm off to an unaffiliated dressage comp and a ODE soon, is it ok to ride in a jump saddle for a dressage test or will I need to take my Wintec and change it over, its seems such a hassle when she rides probably better in her jump saddle on the flat.

Thoughts please

use whatever she goes best in. At unaff level and eventing they shouldn't object. The dressage saddle may show of the shoulder better but thats no good if she goes better in the jump saddle.

It is absolutely fine it just doesn't help you with your position etc. Although Mark Todd always uses a jumping saddle for dressage... so it can be done!

Unafiliated there are no rules as to which saddle, I doubt there are for affiliated.

But a dressage saddle will show off the shoulder better and put the riders legs and body in a better position rather than forward like in a jumping saddle

You will be fine with the jumping saddle. I have done unaffiliated dressage in a jumping saddle before. I would be very suprised if anything was said to you :)

Fantastic thats just what I wanted to hear she goes much better in the close contact saddle and my position seems better so thats great!
