He was bought from an auction about 5 yrs ago, without a passport, then i bought him from the yard owner, i have asked her who sold him, so i could speak to them but she dosen't know who it was, all i know is that he had raced, and was around 20 yrs, i really want to find out his history, i have advertised for info, but as yet no look, is there anyway i can find out or is it hopeless? Anyone with ideas please, please let me know

I'm probably not the best person to give you some ideas but I have in the past tried to be 'pony detective' for various reasons. I've found that past auctions catalogues are sometimes digitalized and uploaded online- these will then give a description of the horse/pony being sold and the name of the owner selling. This may not be the case for all auctioneers but when I looked up Brightwells they had uploaded some past catalogues. Hope I helped even the teeniest tiniest bit :D
Edit: I'm sure because he's a TB lots of people will be able to give you great ways to trace his past (probably slightly easier than trying to trace mountain bred sections a's!)

hi ya,

Its quite a dificult one ..I have heard that you can have a blood test to confirm the sire but i guess you need a good idea of which sire it is first.
Possibly the only thing to do would be put a picture on here and other free websites and hope someone recognises the horse. If i can think of any thing else i will let you know :(
