The section lists are up for Aldon....meep....I have lots of very good names in my section.

If they run in 'section list order' then I will do my dressage immediately before WFP, which I think would be preferable to doing it immediately after WFP. Mind you as the dressage judge will already have seen Andrew Nicholson I think it will make very little difference. I shall fall back on the excuse that my horse has had a two week break at a very inconvenient time as he'd hurt his back.

It got a little bit demoralising last season when for about 4 events in a row I was in the same section as Chris King who kept posting ridiculous dressage scores of about 19!!

It did give me a kick up the arse to improve my dressage this winter though - mind you 19 is still a dream, I'd be happy with consistently sub-40!!

How exciting eventing like a 'proper' event rider. You don't want to go back to Intro, (It's a little bit embarassing) Boysie would probably not actualy see the jumps!!!

He was a bit of a liability last season when I dropped back to intro for the first one of the season.

Mind you, I'm still swimming about trying to do flatwork in a jump saddle, and beginning to wibble and wish I'd entered PN!

I dropped my stirrups on my jump saddle (ex DD's) and was fairly happy with the result, harder to keep my lower leg still at trot I suppose, but she's so free through her shoulders in it I may consider making it my main saddle......

This is the problem I have - lower leg is v unstable and the seat isn't deep enough. Chiropractor laughed when she saw what i'd have to ride in as she has same jump saddle and said 'oh they're impossible to ride long in'. Think some jump saddles must be ok TBH, but I have a distinct lack of steering in mine!

An Albion K2 - the saddler is coming next week so fingers-crossed I may get a dressage saddle sorted before Aldon!

That happened to me at Aldon one year, the biggest problem being that WFP went in to do his dressage exactly before me........GREAT

It didn't really matter anyway, because we were nearly always bottom after the dressage cause my boy "didn't do" that phase!!!!

But it did give me a great buzz to think I was competing against the creme de la creme

LOL I should just be glad I didn't get balloted! If you come on Saturday come and say hi - you will know if you see my lorry - it has signs. I'm not telling what they say, but I promise they will make you laugh and you will know it is my lorry!

TBF we are nearly always shoring up the bottom after the dressage too...hey ho, we persevere!

Oh cool, someone else knows what it feels like then, you must be so sad that I haven't got my old boy there, we could have propped up the bottom of the leader board together

If you are stuck I can bring you down a Medium K2 dressage saddle to borrow for the day. As long as my sister isn't using it - as it is hers.

Thank you - have the offer of one off the yard (Ls) as she will be grooming for me. I am now paranoid about trying anything until saddler has been next wk! Really appreciate the offer though.
