Ex racer by any chance? If he is, get a 5 stage as their hocks can be a problem....and I notice he's resting his near hind while girl is on him....Ty did that from day one, which I thought was endearing and now I have a horse with spavin in both hocks!!!
he seems very safe took him in school and out on roads for 5 mins dint seem bothered what we did went really well in the school even for a novice schooly like me im more a happy hacker but would like to improve
The horse looks lovely - try him several times if you can before buying. I did with my horse and it helped loads with making the decision rather than just trying him once or twice.
I'd say he's a good buy for the money BUT do get him 5 stage vetted first....you don't want to buy something that's going to break your heart with lameness or whatever.
If you feel awkward asking for him to be vetted, tell the current owner that you need a 5 stage vet certificate to insure him.
S
they bought him for there daughter in december she always wanted to compete hes only had one home b4 these but daughters 15 and novelty has worn off mum gave her a chance to sort herself out with a job etc or he goes and this is how its ended up really quite sad as when he goes ill bet she will be gutted
I agree good price but get a decent vetting. My horse was sound at 16 and written off at 17. I am not trying to put you off just get him vetted so you dont end up with a handsome but expensive pet.
Oh and welcome by the way
Mmm, he's not expensive but there is something uncomfortable about him. Might just be the pics of course but make sure you get a 5* as others have said, he just looks a bit weak in the hinds.
i rode him today and he was very relaxed even though he had a loose shoe i thought that about the piccies but hes lovely in the school they lunged him for me to see him with out tack on working... hes very nice
£1500 is a fair price I think. He looks like a nice enough sort. If the owners are honest see if you can get your hands on vet history, always worth an ask! There's no reason why there shouldbe anything wromg with him more than anything else. If you like him, get him vetted and all being ok then great. There shouldn't be a problem to get him vetted it's usual procedure (well in my mind0. I would ratehr pay out for a vetting than pay out for a horse that's going to 'break' in a few months.
i think at age 16 they're just being realistic about the price in my opinion. I think it's easy to be suspicious when something's 'cheap' but that's only because some people ask ridiculously high prices for some horses and we're led to believe that's what the horse is worth!
