Boys and Girls Wintered out fully rugged ab lib Haylage and twice a day feed of Alfa A Oil and Top Spec Balancer.

Took their rugs off 2 weeks ago and can say they are looking well - even a little too well.

With the Spring grass coming through thick and fast i need to ge them a little bit more trim - is it ok to stop feeding them altogether?

What should i do when the moan at me that they want feeding - just ignore them?

I would, our grass is coming throug fast, my boys get a token handful when worked, and have only had had over the winter. If theyre looking a little too well, there only going to look even more well if you continue to feed them, ive had to learn the hard way and it is difficult when they moan! theyre worse than children. ;)

I would, ours is only having a very small handful of happy with to mix joint + vit supplement into and that's it xx

I havn't got masses of grass yet but ours is very rich so they don't need a lot to get fat! The 2 welsh d's are having normal feeds this week and will then go on to just 2 mugs each of Baileys lo cal balancer as mare has joint supplement and i like them to have cider vinegar for coat condition for showing. The anglo arab however will have feeds all the way through as he needs topline and a little weight on currently and will stay in my 'grassier rich' field,he will be doing a fair bit of work all the way through summer and is a v light boy so he will live in luxury! I would cut back yours tbh if their already looking well.

I have nearly stopped feeding my two. We have a bag of horse and pony nuts left so they have a handful each, it makes them think they are getting some food!

Mine, bar the odd whinney just ignore me now when i go up the fields, i know then that my haylage job is done ;D

The only thing mine have now is either a little handful of TSlite for the adult As/cobs or the same of TS balancer for the young or old

I am feeding mine spillers lite balancer as they are on restricted grazing so want to make sure they still get all their vitamins and minerals. I used to feed them bailey's lo cal but feed store didn't have any so thought I would try the spillers lite especially as it is only £16 a bag compared to £24 for the lo cal.

Yes you should stop feeding them, but slowley, give them less and less feed untill they dont have any because it will upset there tummys.

yup i'd stop feeding (gradually though) and just give them something for vits and mins - even just a lick or something - i feed D&H equitbies to my fatty over summer to keep her topped up with any essentails (i'm sure to make me feel better than her - hey-ho- marketeers dream me lol)

Yep stop feeding then gradually, provide a feild lick if you are worried about vit and mins.

Why don't you cut up a carrot in a bowl for dinner instead, then you don't need to worry about looking at their starving faces!!!!:D

When mine are down to nothing that is what i do. Or i go and pick a handful of cow pasley, they think they are getting something then.
