Is there anything I can do to stop one of my horses biting the other in the field?
I dont want to separate them, as they get on really well and its only playing but Arch gets abit rough!!
I put crib stop on rugs when they are rugged, but it doesnt stop him biting Max's neck and throat!!
Ive asked him nicely to stop, but like most children, he doesnt listen!!!!

Are there teeth marks or is it just play?

He is a horse so he will not listen to you like a child when he is out doing horsey things. 2 options i'm afraid, one is to split them and the other is to make him wear a grazing muzzle so he can't get his teeth out.

I sympathise as I have one that bites people, it is has been a long and gruelling slog but we are finally getting somewhere. It's also a dead giveaway when he starts it up again after a long period as I know someone is then giving him treats behind my back!

Stick a grass muzzle on him. He can still eat and drink but at least no more war wounds! Was gonna say if he was biting you, bite him back! My friends mare bit me a couple of weeks ago (she's been getting closer and closer over a week, and this time got her teeth in), grabbed her ear and bit her back, little cow hasn't done it since!
