Can i use a whip?

i have posted so much on my dressage test.. sorry lol

but just a quick question im doing a prelim 14 test in march my class does have a junior section for 16 yrs and under (im 17) and just wondered if im aloud a whip within my test?
 
You'll need to check the rules as it may make a difference if it is BD or Pony Club - or just a local establishment. But in principle yes - you usually can.
 
It might be a good exercise for you to try and learn to do them without too though.

I carry one at nearly all times (owner carries one and I'm a sharer so try to be consistent for horse) but to be honest I think I've probably used it only maybe 5 times (as in it has touched him 5 times, not on 5 different occasions) over the last 9 months or so, and then never for anything other than reinforcing a forward aid.

It is much more rewarding to get them working nicely with super-subtle aids. I love that I can 'half-halt' my share horse now with only a few clenches of where my 6-pack would be if I had one!
