Can i use rape straw as bedding

Can i use baled rape straw straight from farm without fear of neddy eating it.
All the bagged stuff seems to be treated> Now is this to stop them eating it or just to make it smell good and charge more for it?????

Wouldn't have a clue I'm afraid - i have used Bliss before which is treated, the one i used had eucalyptus on it. I don't know if it helped to make it taste bad but my mare doesn't eat her bed so not something I considered - got it as it was the only thing available as shavings had run out! Used it to top up my bed - seemed to work fine and made stables smell lovely! Although a whole bed of it maybe overwhelming!
