can i use this stallion for my mare

please help! i have decided to take a foal from my lovely warmblood mare this year and i have found the perfect stallion that compliments her very well! problem is that the stallions grand-sire is my mares sire!! the dam sides couldnt be more different and ive been told that alot of jumping horses have the same sire lines but im not sure i need some advice. i want my foal to be eligible to be registered with the kwpn society so want to make sure this would be possible

Personally I would not do it so close, however other people do breed that close with great success. I just won't do it within a couple of generations.
 
Where researching through blood lines I noticed a lot of breeds where the sire was the same for both dam & sire of the horse I was looking at. It was used in many breeds to fix a desired trait. There are even horses foaled by brother & sister, sister & farther etc which are a lot closer then you example. I would have thought as some of these breedings took place as recently as late 90's that there is no problem with registration (I want my foal to be eligible to be registered with the kwpn society so want to make sure this would be possible). Have you enquired with the KWPN?
 
personally i think that is too close- there are plenty of lovely stallions around so i am sure you could find an equally nice one which isn't so closely related?
 
It's the same to an extent in pedigree dog breeding some breeders do it some don't! I personally don't like close line breeding. If the match was further back then I'd say ok but that is a little close. But that is my own opinion only..
