I was wondering whether Readigrass could be a good substitute for grass? Grace is supposed to be given grass every day but she is more interested in walking and looking at things than she is in eating the grass

Does anyone know whether this product (or any others) would be suitable?

Ah... Grace had that last year so might not be the best option then.

Just so worried she is not getting the grass that Leahurst wanted her to get

She should be going into a small paddock next weekend, but because of her ligament this is not possible at the moment as it is still very delicate

What are grass cubes?

Mine too! Tried 2 different types whilst he was on box rest, ate it for a couple of days then wasnt interested

I find Just Grass goes down better than Readigrass. I feed it by the bucketful, slightly dampened and never had a problem with it

We have no winter turn out, so that is why I use it, especially as the hay we have ATM is shockingly devoid of any nutrients.

I suspect the vets want her to have grass because it is full of moisture and therefore keeps everything moving internally, so if you do choose to feed a dried grass alternative then make sure it is well soaked.

I give mine readigrass instead of chaff - he loves it (I wet it well though), and is maintaining condition well (with no hard feed, just pink powder and linseed oil)... and it doesnt make him hyper...
