Einstein would be proud of my Insanity...
I was musing about crossing an appaloosa with a zebra the other day - stripes and spots in one horse.

Is that really a spotted zebra?
It looks like a baby okapi

They certainly do- we've had 2 awesome ones, and currently have a third.
I'd post pics but can't get them to upload ?
Luckily its mum doesn't seem to think it's a changelingBless it, it is... confusing... to look at ???
Spotted Zebra (natural mutation)
Zorse (Zebra stallion x horse mare)
I would like a strawberry roan Dales x Arab please.
I knew a Suffolk x Arab; she was about 15 hands with a neat little head on a scaled down Suffolk body
I need one of these too, I'd like to order a filly please.
He's a nice stallion and I'm sure there was an old forum member (Jess and Tiger maybe?) who had a performance arab by him that did everything from side saddle showing to eventing astride.
For that colour KA Damascus is the real standout IMO. Sadly in the USA though.
@Cinnamontoast
I'll do my best
We had a tricolour by Stanhopes Diddicoy and a piebald by Goshka Ringo.
Current chap is by St Ives out of a sj mare
Bear with me while I find some pics ?
Stanhopes diddicoy was a class stallion. Every offspring of his that I've met has be fantastic
Just think of that, the horror of the attitude of a shitland with the athletic body of a WB. A horse like that could go for world domination!The flip side is that it could be round, hairy and 17hh ?
The stripes are unfortunate, at first glance I thought it was so overweight there were wrinkles behind the shoulder.Spotted Zebra (natural mutation)
Zorse (Zebra stallion x horse mare)
You are right I hadn't thought about that Dales are probably all EE by now. I am sure I will cope with another sort of roan ?Oooh tough one - I don’t think you get chestnuts in Dales, do you?
How does a blue of bay roan sound?
@Cinnamontoast
The boys in order - the Stanhopes Diddicoy then the Goshka Ringo and then my current lad
That would have to be AI.....the Shetland would never reach. .I will only say - be careful what you wish for!!!!! A 17hh shetland attitude - the stuff of nightmares.
I'd like a Highland x Arab please. ? think I may need to just settle for an Arabian.
Oh my goodness ?
Haha, he sounds like a hoot. I know one that did endurance. He's mad as a hatter but lots of fun.I used to know a Highland /Arab.
He looked like a lightweight dun highland and was the nappiest, most stubborn, evasive creature known to man. If he didn't want to do something, he'd just set his neck and jaw and walk home. Funny if you weren't his passenger ??
He quite liked jumping but had absolutely no talent for it!
Based on this one - I couldn't recommend the cross ??
