I knew a Suffolk x Arab; she was about 15 hands with a neat little head on a scaled down Suffolk body

I knew a Comtois x ara. Who had very unfortunately an Arab head and legs and a Comtois body. Poor thing looked completely unbalanced had all kinds of foot/leg problems due to her oversized body.

He's a nice stallion and I'm sure there was an old forum member (Jess and Tiger maybe?) who had a performance arab by him that did everything from side saddle showing to eventing astride.

For that colour KA Damascus is the real standout IMO. Sadly in the USA though.

I've always thought it's a shame that Hackneys aren't used more for breeding riding horses, they're said to be hardy and make good jumpers - they're a British breed that seems to be virtually forgotten about to all but driving folks - shame.

Stanhopes diddicoy was a class stallion. Every offspring of his that I've met has be fantastic

Our lad was a complete legend. Sadly lost him to longterm liver failure from historic ragwort poisoning

You are right I hadn't thought about that Dales are probably all EE by now. I am sure I will cope with another sort of roan ?

I used to know a Highland /Arab.
He looked like a lightweight dun highland and was the nappiest, most stubborn, evasive creature known to man. If he didn't want to do something, he'd just set his neck and jaw and walk home. Funny if you weren't his passenger ??
He quite liked jumping but had absolutely no talent for it!
Based on this one - I couldn't recommend the cross ??

I would like a not giant Suffolk punch but crossed with a sensible brain. Or a taller native, does Exmoor, fjord or NF cross well with something like an andalucian? Or an rid so no crossed needed

Haha, he sounds like a hoot. I know one that did endurance. He's mad as a hatter but lots of fun.
