I am utterly useless at writing letters, so could do with some help guys...
I have 3 acres of land that my horses are on. There is an ajoining 3 acres full of lovely grass and I would love to rent it to stick my veteran on to help plump him up. It has no fencing around it (except on the side of my land) and joins straight on to a golf course. The land belongs to the house next to ours, which has been empty for 3 years since owner died. It has now passed on to his daughter who conventiently lives down the road. Unfortunately, she isn't the nicest person in the world and seems to have some issues with this house - it has not been touched at all since the old man's death, to the extent of coffee cups still being on the table. So I get the feeling there are some problems with her and her fathers house for some reason. I don't want to offend or upset her by knocking on the door and asking to rent the land, so figured a letter would be the best as she can throw it in the bin if she so wishes and no one gets hurt. On the other hand, If I ask her face to face (as I normally would) and she gets upset/angry I am also likely to get upset/angry and don't fancy a tiff with the neighbours.
So can anyone draft me short and sweet letter? As I said, the land is unfenced and has no water/electricity supply. I would happily fence it, but would expect reduced rent in exchange. Not sure how much the going rate is (Kent, so most probably extortionate!)
