Have been thinking about trying readigrass - just for a bit of variety - plus horses have been in since Sunday due to bad weather !!

Don't know much about it though ...........

Is it high in calories ?? My lad is an old boy and he struggles with his waistline !!

I give it to my tb never had any probs with it fizzing them up but my boy struggles to keep weight on so can't help with the last question but they do love it!

I feed it to my two heavy horses - it is very high in fibre but non-heating. Here is the analysis of it
Only downside is it is rather pricey at £11.90

Graze-on is a cheaper alternative, but not so high in fibre.

I tried feeding it my horse when he was on box rest and he would eat it???
My friend fed it years ago to her placid cob mare and she turned into a spooky loony, she was feeding it with Marksway Haylage (to try and give her more to eat). The feed merchant said it was a bad combination?

I love the smell of Ready Grass and my ponies prefer it to their feed!

But it makes me sneeze and sneeze!

I dampen it down a bit as it is very dry though and I've heard of some horses that choke on it. Mine never have, but I wet it just to make sure!

I think that Readigrass is flash dried young growth grass which will be high energy, probably best to speak to the manufacturers Friendship Estates at Doncaster or check the analysis on the bag before feeding to stabled horses.

Just looked on their website and they say it contains approx 12-13 MJDE/kg, which is a similar calorie content to many conditioning cubes/mixes, so it is likely to lead to weight gain if fed in significant quantities!

I use Graze-On as could not get Readigrass. A bale has lasted me months as it's tightly compacted and I only use it to bulk out my small hard feeds. A large double-handful morning and night. Took a few days of introducing it gradually for it to be eaten up with gusto, but now they all really love it. I haven't had a problem with it at all (but agree, I am only using it at fairly low amounts so really wouldn't know about it causing fizziness).

Actually, my horses perfer it over HiFi Original (which I sometimes use as a hay replacement top-up when they are in).

readigrass is what it says really high temperture dried grass full goodness of grass but dried a lot of people feed it in winter when the grass goes sprase!
