Fly lost a shoe about a week ago! I'm sure it was missing, he has had his feet picked out everyday, hoofing made that horrible scratching noise and he was unbalanced walking. This was still the case when I went up to feed them and put hay out at about 8 last night.
I had a text from the farrier at half 7 this morning saying he would be up to put it on late morning, I saw this at about 9 when I woke up and I got to the yard about 10 to bring him in.
I went down to bring fly in and Tipsy came trotting over slightly bemused ( I'll get to how that is relevant later) I took fly up and hose his legs down to find that he had all four shoes on? The shoe on the foot that was missing one looked new but saying that so did all the others....
Now I'm wondering how it has happened I can't have been imagining him loosing it, my Dad has seen that it's missing and I have a text from another livery saying that he was limping slightly, I'm wondering if the farrier had already been up and brought him in to do it? But my field is a nightmare, the farrier has trouble walking and won't even bring fly in from the little sick paddock on the yard to save us having to keep him in. This is where the tipsy part comes in if it was before the other horses went put and it was only my two up by the gate I can see he might have tried to bring fly in and tipsy was a bit concerned by it?
I have sent farrier a text asking if he's already been but he hasn't replied, do any of you have any other ideas about how it happened? And what time do
You count as late morning?
