Thanks.
Meg has this really annoying 'way' about her. Almost every evening at tea time this happens. I walk upto the field carrying three feed buckets, a hook over fence one for Meg, one on the ground for Juno and I tie the other one to the fence for Penny. Juno and Penny are very good, stay where their feed is and eat. Meg on the other hand, is nowhere to be seen, so I walk into the field to find her 'halfway'. She doesn't want to come forward for her tea, but is walking around willing me to walk to the bottom of the field. If I do, she is happy enough for a while, if I don't she will stand and stare at me from a distance, whickering at me but not coming. I often relent, and continue to where madam wants it. This is a 4/5 acre field! She stands quietly most nights and eats til it is almost gone, then pisses off, galloping circles, stopping, staring into space and zooming off again. She will only do this in the bottom half of the field, it looks like she thinks there is an invisable line which she will not cross! Meanwhile, the other two have finished eating quietly and just walk upto me for their evening polo, before walking off. Meg is still often zooming about. She will come to me for her polo quietly before she is off again! Thsi is just after her dinner, and I can't help but think it is not good for her!
On the days when she doesn't do it, Iam so pleased, and she seems very relaxed and butter wouldn't melt! Windy days I always think she may be worse, but its not always the case.
She gets ad lib hay in the mornings and she is ALWAYS at the front and never agitated then.
I just wonder if anyone can think why she could be doing this, when its not so dim daylight wise, I will film her doing it! Silly mare or what!??
My only conclusion is that she is bored, and I might start lunging her to make her feel better. (She is on winter holiday).
