Whilst being on here I have seen many poems etc posted when others have lost their beloved.

I have a couple saved myself but I know there is one that I particularly liked and I can't find it.

If you have any could you please post them for me?

(I have the ones starting 'I'll lend to you for a little while' and 'if the day should come')

Thanks

You have had a dreadful day - I can't remember the poem but try the 'Rainbow Bridge' website.

Sorry, useless post but sending you big ((((())))).
Keep trying to smile - it is such a difficult time for you.

Don't cry for the horses that life has set free. A million white horses forever to be. Don't cry for the horses now in God's hand. As they dance and they prance in a heavenly band. They were ours as a gift, but never to keep. As they close their eyes forever to sleep. Their spirits unbound. On silver wings they fly. A million white horses against the blue sky. Look up into heaven, you'll see them above. The horses we lost, the horses we loved. Manes and tails flowing, they gallop through time. They were never yours, they were never mine.
Don't cry for the horses. They'll be back someday. When our time is gone, they will show us the way. Do you hear that soft nicker? Close to your ear? Don't cry for the horses. Love the ones that are here.

I think this is beautiful, hope you do too. Sxx

This is not an official poem, this was written by our eight year old niece when Cairo Clydesdale died. We had close friends and family come to scatter his ashes and she read this out. She had rode him since she was 18 months old - out on the saddle with me and later by herself.

Cairo was a great horse - 2008

When I was little and I rode you, it was the first time we met. I was amall and scared, you were big and tall. Everytime I rode you, you never bucked.

I used to bring you carrots, apples sometiimes I would bring you flapjacks.

You will always be my special friend even though you are gone you'll always be with me.

I love you Cairo.

The words of an eight year old, summed him up perfectly, large, kind, loved his foods, a special friend and will be loved forever.
