Can someone pls explain the difference in a jump saddle vs GP tree?

I can only get jump saddles to fit my youngster - her shoulder is a really weird shape. Saddler said something about jump saddles sitting behind the withers but that was all the explanation I got. Would love a bit more info!

At a guess... the tree in the saddle shouldnt really be that much of a different shape to a gp of the same make. The flaps are different.

Don't really know what your fitter means tbh. Jump saddles have flatter trees on them but tend to be slightly tricker for shoulders than a straighter cut GP as they are obviously more forwards and onto the shoulder. It can mean they sit further back, but you can sit any saddle further back if appropriate to do so for the fit. Some GP saddles have flatter jump style trees in, most saddles I fit have flattish trees which are more jump style, to suit flatter backs.
