Can speedi beet make your horse scatty?

Question as title really, i have been adding speedi beet to both my horses feed, but lately my youngster has been really agitated when i try to do anything with her, even down to giving her a brush or removing her rug, was just pondering at work as to whether it is the addition of speedi beet?

She is 3 years old and only getting a double handful when soaked to wet her dinner

its quite frustrating as i feel like we have taken a step back to when she first arrived 12 months ago, back in September she was an angel to stand and be brushed rugged unrugged etc., recently she has become a real fidget bum

You will have these setbacks with a youngster, don't worry they are normal! Just stick it out and she will come good.

Worth checking what feed you are giving her to make sure it is providing the right levels of vits/mins each day.

Also, if you really believe she is acting out of character, you might consider asking for a comprehensive blood test to see if there are underlying problems.

It's a difficult one, because youngsters can be fidgetty and fussy as they get used to boundaries over what they are allowed to do, and what is not allowed. That's where it comes down to the owner whether they really believe what's happening is normal or not.

The feed she is getting is providing her all the correct levels of vits and minerals, as i checked with the company who i buy it from, she gets the right amount required to give her what she needs, its a complete feed - i think she is just trying it on again at the moment, this behaviour was NORMAL when she first arrived, I just suppose i wasn't expecting her to revert back again.
