I'm beginning to think I am the most c*** dog owner in the world.
Still haven't got o the bottom of why Jess is getting tired (she ran agin at the weeekend--was brilliant in the morning and did a fastest time, then completely slowed up in the afternoon).
Now to cap it all Beau is ill.
My dearest quality dog, my Lab Beau.
13 yrs old and has lost some weight so I took her to the vets. A blood test has shown her liver is not working properly. At the time of writing this she is at the vets having a scan and I am on tenterhooks waiting for a phone call.
Sorry to share my woes but felt I needed to "talk" to someone.

Oh my darling. I'm so sorry to hear that. I know more than most at the moment how worrying the waiting is.

She's in the best place, and she'll be in the best hands and I'm sure they'll be able to help her, and you.

I'm also sorry to hear about Jess being a bit down again. I was thinking the other day about her, and thought maybe you could suggest to the vet that you try her on either some "bute" type stuff, or maybe some glucosamine? Then you could see if it is pain related? Sorry if thats a silly idea.

Let us know what the vet says. So sorry to hear its all going so pants. Will keep fingers crossed for you. xxxx

Oh and you are absolutely NOT a bad owner. You're the best owner they could ask for - you've spotted theyre not right and you've taken them to the vet. They couldn't ask for a better mum.

Nothing to say really - just hugs for you all!!:)

You know you are about a far from a cr*p dog owner as it is possible to be.:)

Fingers crossed it is nothng serious for Beau and that you find an answer for Jess soon.:) None of this will stop you worrying but you know our thoughts are with you and your dogs.:)

Oh, as if you're anything but a brilliant dog owner - a lot of people wouldn't think anything of a dog feeling off colour or dropping weight - you've spotted something was wrong immediately and taken her in, so have given her the best chance of getting whatever the problem is, nipped in the bud.

Fingers crossed it's nothing serious for Beau , or Jess, once again x

You poor thing. Ditto what everybody else has said. You sound like a FANTASTIC owner, and you're dogs are extremely lucky to have someone like you.

xx Hugs xx

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm still feeling very down, as I'm sure you'll understand.
It's the not knowing what is wrong that is so hard to take. I feel I should be doing something to help them but can't because we don't know what to treat.
