As my Daddy's Dog, Jek is a very poorly bean :(

He was at the Vet's a few weeks ago as the right side of his face had become paralysed. Vet said it was either nerve damage or a mini-stroke and that he may get better in time. He also had a big lump in his neck, but Vet said it was just a swollen gland.
Then a couple of Days ago my noticed Jek's ears were full of fluid, so he went back to the Vet. Vet decided to try him on some strong antibiotics.
Last night Jek was worse rather than better (his ears look fit to burst, and it had spread all around his head), so he went back to the Vet.

He had bloods taken which came back fine, but a biopsy showed that he has some form of cancer :( We think there is possibly a tumour pressing on a nerve causing the paralysed face and his lymphnodes aren't draining properly, which is what all the fluid is.

He is so happy and bouncy still, not lost any of his appetite, still goes out with everyone else and pootles along at his own pace, that my Dad has decided to give a mild form of chemo a go.

Vet says he has known two dogs get completely better, whereas most others get months/years, so can everyone cross his fingers that these drugs really do something for poor Jekky pup. :(

Apart from anything else, my Dad is going to be truly heartbroken. He is a big soft get at the best of times, but Jek really is his once in a lifetime dog.

Not having the best run with dogs at the moment, good reason for having a huge age gap between dogs, stops them all getting old at the same time!

The only sign anything is wrong with him is his droopy face, it means he constantly has a huge string of dribble (and whatever he has eaten) hanging out of his jowls on one side, rather minging, especially when you are trying to eat!! Especially nice when his apprentice, Tag, decides he needs cleaning and licks it off!
