Can Wilkie bits be used for showing?

going to show my cob this season and I really don’t know if wilkies are allowed we would be doing cob and coloured classes along with young handler

Yes sadly they are. You can even use them as bridoons!

I personally hate the bits as they are essentially gags on all but name.

Yes most show ponies I knew were in Wilkies to be honest.

I’m used to riding in gags my previous pony was in a Dutch gag and irs what works for the horse I guess he does also have a full cheek Waterford but I prefer using the Wilkie I’m quite soft with my hands due to this

Just to let youse know we competed and he was a good boy we didn’t acc compete in the Wilkie as we did equitation
