Supercob has been on Allen & Page 'muscle & focus' over winter but now the grass is coming through isn't hugely interested in a bucket feed (plus its expensive). I'd rather just give him a small amount of soaked hay cobs / sainfoin chaff with balancer but he has always needed higher protein than the others - too many powders in a small bucket isn't palatable.

Allen & Page seem to add peas and fava beans to their higher energy feeds so I thought I could just buy those separately and then increase / decrease dose depending on what we are doing and how much energy I need.

Now I know I'm getting old but adding flaked peas for more oomph was something I grew up with (& one of my most embarrassing dressage stories comes from a horse having a few too many) but drawn a blank in the feed shop. Google is showing me Masham micronised feeds - but they don't sell to the general public as far as I can tell.

Does anyone still feed them as a straight?

I think you can probably get mixed flakes from MMF thru a feed shop (used to be able to) , maybe ask a local friendly farmer if he can get from an agricultural store

There must be somewhere online, I think I've seen pea protein would that be the same?

Yes, there are a lot of companies that do them.
Ask around your local feed co. & see who sells "straights".
My feed supplier sells "Henry Bell Micronised Peas" in 25Kg sacks. I presume one make is as good as another for a single ingredient.

Faba bean is used for livestock a lot in pellet form not sure on straights but I will say it is toxic to dogs so worth bearing in mind

You can get the Masham ones on Amazon, I just looked!

I didn't even think of Amazon!!!

I bet all the branded ones come from the Masham place anyway. I'll see if that's a name they can order in for me.

Not a bad price either - they didn't come up on my google search so thank you.

grow fields and fields of them around me - they are good nitrogen fixers but get desiccated before harvesting which I'm not a fan of. Didn't realise they were poisonous to dogs

I buy fish pellets based on it for my koi, my mum's dog learnt to open cupboards and got into the bin and ate a kilo of them and had a very very very upset stomach for days. But they had enough other stuff in that he didn't have any effects other than that. When it's cooked/prepped in to feed the toxicity is less but still not great for them to eat.
Unless you also have a dog who thinks he's starving at all times unless he's literally got a mouthful of grub (🤦🤦) it's unlikely to be a problem though, they do have to eat quite a lot for it to be an issue because it's just one compound in the beans that's the issue.

Howsams mill does both as straights in 20kg bags

They'll order in for me although I'm going to pop to the pet store tomorrow & see if there are little bags in the rabbit section. Just in case it is rocket fuel & 20kg suddenly seems excessive 😅🤣
It is sold in small quantities as angling bait, might be cheaper than the petshop.

I have just seen Milbry hill have flakes peas on their website
Also efeeds have them
