As it says in the title realy.

Does anybody know if it is possible to buy decent new saddles on finance? I wouldnt normally put anything on finance and own everything in my possesion outright, but i dont think my almost 30 year old competition saddle is going to last the full event season and i just dont have £3k hangng around for a new one.

I have a garunteed steady income but think it will take longer to save than my saddle will last!

£3k?! I've not seen a horse yet that can't go in a £1k-£2k saddle, does that make a difference? The only company I know of that does finance apparently is Barnsby direct, otherwise you've got to ask each fitter/retailer.

Ive just had to buy a new dressage saddle for my mare, it cost 1.2k and its gone on a credit card that i got specifically for buying the saddle. Its interest free for 18months and ive set up an automatic direct debit each month to pay off the right amount so it will be cleared within the 18month period. Ive also shredded the credit card so that im not tempted to buy anything else on it. I hate owing money but unfortunately that was the only way I was going to be able to buy it.

Just out of interest, 3k is rather a lot?? You can get a really decent saddle for around 1.2-1.5k easily.
