A quick question, can you wash with just warm water and a brush? I bought it second hand only bought about a month ago just want to give it a little rinse of dirt before putting it on my mare. as its so new i dont want to reproof or anything.

Surely it would be the same as it being rained on or am i being blonde?

yes you can, i wash my turnouts like this. I just lightly scrub the worst off the outside and wash the grease off the inside.

If you scrub the outside I would think (although I don't know for certain) that you will cause any reproof to come off.

Don't do as my dear old Dad did and washed one of my old NZ type rugs with a jet wash. He opened the fibres up and the rug was like a great big stretched blob of material.

I ripped one with a steam cleaner (safely turned to low!)
Yes, I chuck mine over a gate and scrub with a bit of warm water and non bio liquid. Then hose it off.
