Can you 'downgrade' from welsh b to a??

I'm pretty certain you can't do this. (Though you can go from A to B if pony goes over height.)

As and Bs are meant to be different types anyway, unlike Cs and Ds which transfer easily as their breed standard is pretty much the same. Just because a pony is a good specimen of a B but small does not mean it will be a good specimen of a section A - there should be clearly defined differences between an A and a B, each one should be easily recognisable.

My daughter (many years ago) had a tiny section B, just over 11.2 who was extremely succesful as an M & M lead rein, winning many classes at PUK, so maybe that is the future for your little B. :)

No, I don't believe you can. The WPCS is rather protective over the 'typeyness' of As and therefore if you cross an A with a B it must be registered as a B. This could be an explanation for your B being rather A-like!

yep, didn't think so. She has qualified anyhow as a lead rein, but have put her in a couple of b classes, and she struggled and looked very small.

Thanks for your help x

well i've just had her covered so will concentrate on her being a mum for the time being and will trim and pull her to come out with my youngest son as a lead rein hunter pony 2012 me thinks!!
