I have a pair of Woof Wear Pro tendon boots that my mare has worn day in, day out for nearly a year now and they have been fantastic.

But, the top strap ( the one that goes down, vertically, over the other 2 straps - if anyone has the same boots they'll understand) has started fraying right at the top where it joins to the boot. Its in an awkward place so i can't stitch it - was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to fix it? moneys a bit tight for me at present and I don't really want to fork out £30 for a new pair but I won't ride her without them.

Excuse my blonde-ness but what is duct tape?

I'm afraid that when they wear out that's it, they can't really be repaired. There are many other makes of tendon boot that are far cheaper & will equally do the job. My horse has a variety of quite expensive boots but one of the hardest wearing & well fitting is a cheap pair of Masta (under £10).

Have a look on Equestrian Clearance & see what they have, they did have some Mark Todd at around £16.

Oh, Duct Tape is a broad grey/silver tape, very sticky, normally used in sticking insulation around large industrial pipes.
