I have recently bought a thoroughbred who currently has no registered name but he is a registered TB. I would like to give him a registered name and a name for competition.

He is called Marco and has been named this by several owners.

He is an ex polo pony and he was bred in Ireland. He is 5 years old and is a bay 15.1hh gelding.

I like it when the horses sire and dams names are incorporated into their names.

Marco's sire is Imperial Ballet Who is by Sadlers Wells (a top racehorse)

His dam is Ballyellery who is by Brief Truce.

Got any suggestions?

the only name i am thinking of is Marco Polo.

What does he have on his passport? Would have been given a name to register him.

I still believe its bad luck to change names!

I have to agree that it is bad luck to change names so if he is registered as maco maybe try to keep marco in his show name then your not changing it just adding to it!
