I am holding a horse show on the 23rd of March, in south wales

This show is to raise money for these four Charities
Lluest Horse and Pony Trust
Many Tears animals rescue
N.S.P.C.C
Cancer Research

We have all the classes & Championships covered
but we are looking for a major sponsor to cover the show's rosettes, which will be £150
We will be submitting articles to monthly magazines so you will be mentioned! plus on schedules and website

We need help... So if any one can help or point us in the right direction please e-mail me scwpca@aol.com

(if it doesn't work try again later, as they are servicing the servers at the mo)

No suggestions, sorry - when I have run shows I have asked a business to sponsor each class (ie cost of rosettes/prizes), it reduces the pain for the sponsors and you can find smaller local businesses, then each one gets a mention in the schedule - and if they want they get to present the rosettes for their class

I'd phone around all of your local tack shops/feed merchants/riding shools/livery yards/shops/bars/restaurants....anywhere!! Assure them that their company/business will be mentioned as much as possible and emphasize that it's a charity event.

I'm on our university riding club committee and we had to find sponsorship at the beginning of the year, we just visited/called as many local businesses as possible. Make sure you get some sort of written contract stating how much they have agreed to give you and how you have agreed to promote them at your show.

Sounds like a great idea, good luck!

I have done feed merchants, tack shops etc in the area.
Most have dontated vouchers for around £20

Not done local shops as I have tried before on another event and got a flat no every where!!

I have just had good news the rosettes are coming in at £125

I was captain of our university equestrian club 2 ears ago and like Penguinboots - we had to get sponsorship at the start of the year. I rang or emailed a huge number of drugs companies, studs and other businesses ( college is in a city - so"local" businesses dont reALLY help). Try some equine related companies outside your immediate areas. Only problem with this time of year is its almost the end of the financial year for business so amny wont have much "sponsorship money" to give out now - those that set aside a specific amount each year will already have theirs allocted by now usually. Though have to say - we've been lucky and taken on two GREAT sponsors in the last 10days!

Estate agents are quite a good bet! They like adverts in papers and also potential customers who might be selling their properties. Plus as a loathed proffession any good bit of PR in the community is good for them!

If you are advertising the show make sure they get a strap line underneath the name of the show etc
Also with the rosettes offer to put stickers on the back advertising services? It would be dead easy to do and yet be really impressive in trying to win support.

If they are not arleady sponsoring a class, try local 4x4 and trailer dealers.
Offer them an overprinted ribbon on every rossette tail-
BUT must make sure any overall sponsor does not conflict with the class sponsor.
