can you help!!tips on getting rid of lice and mange

hi everyone !!!! i rescued a pony:) which i don t regret at all!!! poor little thing is such a love ive given it paramox wormer, had its feet done, bathed and de fleaded with louse powder. she has a fab full mane and tail no scabs in it at all which makes me think not sweetich, but she has baled patches on her neck stomach under the jugular, so i decided to clip her fully to get at the problem, i bathed her again in iodine to kill the mange and got some stuff from the vets for lice!!! which is helping also done my research and ordered another wormer which is the only one on the market which kills pin, skin, hair worm, just keep trying my best to get this fab pony right!!!! she is eating like a pig fab appitite and drinking well rugged up to the hilt and in a isolation stable away from my other horses untill she is fully recovered, gaining weight and lots brighter!!! anyone got any ideas on any thng you can think ive missed out doing ???

Sounds like you've done everything you can. Was the stuff you gotfrom the vet called Deosect? It's great stuff for most creapy crawlies so worth getting if you haven't already. Louse powder is more of a preventative than cure.

Be careful about using too many lotions and potions at once though as you don't want to overload her system.

Just give her time and I'm sure she'll come right. There's no quick fix! ;)
 
thanks hun!!! yes i think it was that stuff from the vets, its also used as a fly repellent too, its white you mix it 1 to 5part water. seems to be doing the trick. i will take some pic s and post them so you can see the changes she has made over the weeks!!! bless her what a little love she is i just can t understand sometimes why people have these animals they can t look after but hey she is one of the lucky ones whom now has a fab home and spoilt rotten!! xxx
