Hi Everyone
Firstly, I don't really have any news for you about Carrot and Spud - there isn't a great deal to say. But, to be honest, that's good news in itself, everyone is happy with them. Once again thank you for all of the donations and support.
Even though HHO has been great with everything you have done, I am afraid to say I am about to ask you all for another favour.
I hope that a lot of you on here would be in support of our responsible breeding campaign - "Think Before You Breed". Hopefully many of you would agree that we have a massive equine overproduction problem in this country. I can quote statistics at you all day long but I will spare you that. However, there is some more info here:

We have had some criticism over this campaign - too little, too late and that kind of thing. Perhaps that is fair enough but I haven't been here that long and I can only do so much at once! I am also not naive enough to think that the problem can be solved by one campaign. However, I'm optimistic enough to think that we CAN make a difference. The problem is that we need funds to do this (this is not a plea for money please keep reading!) and so in 2010 we are going to be auctioning off celebrity artwork and things that money can't buy to raise what will hopefully be very significant funds to pay for quite a number of different initatives. more details here (so I don't go on for too long!):

So, where do you guys come in? Well, I was wondering if any of you happen to have any connections to any famous people (equestrian and non-equestrian)? If you do and you might be willing to put us in touch with them, or even approach them on our behalf, it would be truly wonderful. I have lots of promotional info to explain the campaign to them and we are going to be writing to an awful lot of celebs/agents but I do think we may have the best chances of getting them involved with a personal approach.
If you think you could help you probably don't want to post too much info on an open forum but please do either PM me or email me on l.hackett@bhs.org.uk
I might not be able to get back to you for a while as I am all over the country in the next few days so please don't think me rude if there is a delay.
I'm sorry to keep pestering you all for stuff but I know how many people here care about equine welfare and you just don't know who might know somebody!
Thanks for reading and thank you in advance for your help
