Hello,

Like the title can i jump in my show saddle. i have a welsh section d that i do alot of county level showing with but i do like to do the odd funride

so i was wondering if i can do little jumps up to around 3ft in my show saddle

i used to show jump at a very high level but had an accident and i wont jump over 3ft in an arena.

So is it okay to jump in it ?? :)

thankyou

I should hope so - Working Hunter classes include jumping.

As long as you feel comfortable.

I used to know someone who jumpe 3ft 6 in a very deep dressage saddle - She said the 'gluey' seat helped her stay on!

As long as you are comfy in it you will be fine, my children both do workers and jump in their straight cut show saddles and they are fine.
But then again when I used to jump i only had a half panel show saddle so no knee rolls at all

I do :D

Dressage is my main past time, but have been known to have the odd jumping lessons, have done fun ride all in my straight cut show saddle

yes! not as easily or neatly sometimes as in a jumping/GP saddle but you can :) teaches you to balance yourself and its pretty hard to over 'over fold' as you can't rely on the knee rolls!

Yep I jump in a show saddle :) Was the only one I could afford that was wide enough pony without going down synthetic route (which I cant bear hehe)
I have jumped easily up to about 3ft, plus been out hunting and jumped probable 1metre+, I should think with little style or grace but pony and I came out alive!
It is a very very straight cut, with tiny tiny knee rolls and the only problem I have is if he does have a little baby stop moment, I just fly straight over his head! :P

Whyever not?

You will be fine... unless of course you WANT an excuse to go shopping.... :D
