You can do what you like at unaffiliated! You will also be able to enter them in open affiliated classes.

Some places say you can't enter the 70 class for example if your horse has won an 80 but they'll say that on the entry

I know I used to struggle with this jumping unaffiliated on my Grade B when I had him, i didn't even know what affiliated meant and had to wait until the end of the day to jump in the open classes. I know they often say 'horse and rider combo not to have won XX amount'.

I could do with a schoolmaster type, just thought I'd ask. Thanks

Depends on the unaff rules - if same rider then it's pretty cr@p of them to do it.

Lots of variables - horse coming back from a break / injury - new rider, rider recovering from injury / maternity break.

If the same combination is affiliated 1.10 on Saturday and pot hunting at local RC at 2'6 on the Sunday that would be a bit unfair (but probably not against many rules).

I had an eventer who has completed at 5* (old fashioned 5*) - when I first got him we did our fair share of prelim dressage and 2'6 classes (doing terribly until I learned where the buttons where!)

Oh well, we won't be going, just enquired and the horse is a 9 hr round trip which will mean an overnight stop with dog in tow. So not going to happen. Too short notice with other commitments. Never mind.

Can you send some nice horses this way please?? :D:D

Thanks anyway. I'm beginning to think I'm destined to be without
