just out of curiosity really.. i probably sound like an idiot for asking but if i dont ask i wont find out :)

basically the yard im on doesnt have a school and we are on clay so the riding area isnt suitable to ride on right now... taz has been out of proper work for about 6 ish months and hasnt been sat on at all since november ish this is all to do with my lack of saddle

obviously i cant get on him (still without a saddle) and get him working properly to strengthen his back up (previous back problems- some on going) but i need to fitten him up as he is having a made to measure saddle and there is no point in fitting a saddle to him when he is unfit as he changes a huge amount shoulder wise and along his back and the saddle would again not fit so pointless really

he doesnt soften into draw reins but i want him to work long and low but he just walks like a giraffe so i thought about long reining in a pessoa in walk only for a few weeks and slowly build up if you know what i mean :)

thankkkss :)

Yes we spent the summer long reining my young WB in a pessoa who is being rehabilitated for a sacro illiac problem. It works well - I long rein both from the side and from behind the horse, also over poles at walk. We just started trot work and have now turned him away :)

I also like the chambon and have lunged him in that in the past although he does tend to go so low he will infrequently step into it :( but thankfully he doesn't panic :)
