Hi, thinking of joining a riding club but there are two local to me,
XC and SJ are my interests (not bothered with being in a team etc atm)

One has a cross country course (only small but you can use it to practise on) and own menage where they hold sj clinics, etc

2nd has XC clinics but have to travel about an hour to get to the instructor. and have lessons you can book on to at their club field

1st is about 40 mins away
other is 10 mins

so just wondering if you are only allowed to join one I really cant decide which one though.

What do you look for when joining a club?

Hiya

You can join as many riding clubs as you want (have to pay membership to each) but you can only compete at BRC qualifiers etc for one riding club each year. I was always in 2, used to compete for the smaller one as prob wouldn't have got in a team for the bigger and better one.

This was a couple of years ago but assuming nothing has changed..

Roo is right - you can join any number of RCs, but you can only represent one at BRC team level. If you arent bothered about teams, jojn as many as you want!

If i was you I'd join the first one, it sounds great. esp if you are into XC and they have their own course.

You can change clubs for official comps after Lincoln now, but you then have to stay with that club for the purpose of ridng in th official comps for the next 12 months
