Can you please tell me how you muck out your pellet beds?

I use pellets neat in areas where horse wets. Then put shavings over the top

I get poo out. Every few days or when I see wet I scrape dry away then dig out wet patch. Sprinkle a few more pellets.

Take poo out daily, and obvious wet patches, then turn whole bed when more time - usually only need once a week - and add dry pellets as needed. Pony is very tidy and use about one bag a week.

Daily: Pick out poo and any wet areas that come to the top.
weekly: I usually have to add one bag once a week, sometimes two depending on how long she is in for and how messy she is.
When I add a new bag, I leave the pellets whole so that there is maximum absorbency.

I switched to wood pellets this weekend. I bought EVA mats, so I only put down 6 bags in a 10x20 stable. I probably made the bed a bit too wet, as there weren't that many whole pellets, but I'll learn next time and probably do what dreambigpony does and put a bag down whole. This morning, I just took out the poo and obvious wet and neatened it up.

I have to admit, I wasn't keen on the wood pellet yesterday, as I found it didn't bank well, so I left the stable without banks and it looked ... odd. But, it usually takes me 30-45 minutes to muck out on straw and it took me literally 10 minutes this morning, so was able to ride for longer. If it remains as easy as this, I'm sold on it!

I put down 10 bags on top of EVA mats in the beginning and wet them. Mucking out I just remove poos and solid wet patches. One mare wees a lot so add approx 2 bags per week. My other horse is very clean and I top up with 1 bag a week. At weekend's I turn the whole bed and get all of the wet out.

I do mine like I would a shavings bed - lift poo and wet patches daily and turn over all the bedding. I add one bag roughly every 4 days to my messy boy's stable.
