Can you recommend a stable manufacturer?

Looking to get some quotes (probably for a barn rather than a wooden block) and could do with some recommendations. I am in Scotland, but our "local" company don't do particularly nice stables in my opinion. Their main barns are ok-ish but I wouldn't go for their internal partitions. I like both Stable Company and Scotts of Thrapston designs, but suspect they are at the very upper end of the price bracket. No surprise there then

Also considering a steel frame, but this will be right next to our house so I'd like something not too agricultural.

Suggestions very welcome.

IAE do really nice internal partitions if you had someone local build the barn, they deliver UK wide and were really nice,my dad decided to put them up himself and they weren't complicated. Heavy but simple.

Thanks I've not come across them. Most of theirs seem to be fully boxed in (as in bars to the front of the stable as well as the sides) and I am quite keen on the ones that are more open at the front. But they certainly are worth a look.

I was very happy with my wooden mini barn from Saltire who are based in Fife (hopefully that's not the ones you don't like!) can post pics if you want. Happy with the build and it's survived 4 years of Cairngorm winds to date !

Lachlan - if you don't mind posting pics that'd be great (and, ahem, try and persuade me otherwise  ). I just think they are quite basic looking, and not very attractive? Perhaps it's just their website though.

Am a wee bit annoyed with them as they did a repair on my current stables to the very slightly leaking roof, and made it ten times worse.

They look pretty good, we went for hardwood and they have taken a good beating(mine are rowdy!) The partitions have taken several double barrels without damage. I would bear in mind if you want open fronts that your needs may change such as box resting, potential weavers (mine have weave grill tops, any wider and my weaver could get a great run up),plus any babies in there,we had a weanling in and had to block the top door as she was quite keen on jumping out etc.

Saltire Stables in Fife built my stable block 6 years ago , its still in fab condition and its in the highest village in Scotland and has withstood the horrendous weather we get .
