Just as above..my tb gelding likes to play & in the autumn he ripped his 600d Masta to shreds playing mith his pal..so need a nice new strong one ready for spring/summer. Thanks.

No fill, i can recommend the Amigo's. If you want a little bit of fill there is a Mark Todd or a weatherbeeta which are also very good.

I have had an Amigo for everyone of my horses and they have grown out of them before they have ripped or been ruined.

My youngster has just grown out of his 6' and will be getting him a 6'6" for the spring!!!

Check out Ebay for 2nd hand ones or I'll post you mine if any good for you for £15?!!?

Amigos are very good (have a few myself :D ) but only come in 600D and 1200D.

I have the premier equine 70g one and that is a great rug, currently on sale in some sizes. The swish equestrian light turnout rug is also great - 1200 denier and very reasonable price, I bought one for my brood mare as her foal was always ripping her rug by jumping on her back and it's been great.

I had the exact same problem with my boy. I bought him a castle lightweight rug and haven't looked back, would highly recommended it. Had it over a year and it's brilliant, no rips (and he's in a field full of rug rippers), really good covering and really waterproof (have washed at home and still fab).

What to avoid: Premier Equine, no fill, was meant to be bombproof, waterproof etc...it was useless. If it rained, the rug got completely soaked and the horse was wet and miserable. It might be ok for turnout with no chance of rain...it's essentially a fairweather rug.

Hello

I have 5 horses all wear either shires or mark todd. I have a weatherbeta rug as well. I have lots of mastas but they never last the winter intact-i have 10 that need to be repaired.

I have a amigo but do not like it. It is 7ft so long enough for my 17hh boy but to short too tight around neck and slips, generally not a good fit for a chunky horse-maybe suit a tb.

Personally I would buy a mark todd, I love everything about my no fill.

Premier Equine - Couldn't recommend their rugs enough and they currently have a sale running. Definitely worth a look!

rhinos are so good, they have a plastic type coating which makes them much more durable, my rhinos have lasted the longest!

Thanks for all the recommendations.. I will have a shop about but I definately need a high denier just to get it to last..I need it in a 6'6..thanks guys!

Amigo, if TB or fine type and mark todd if a chunkier horse. i brought both my horse amigos but it was to tight round the front for my chunkier lad (and he isn't even a cob!)

Don't know if you want to really splash out but what about the Rambo Supreme which comes in a no fill version and if you make sure you get a new 'model' as it were, it comes with all the liner attachments.

Yeh it's for a TB...I want it for the spring but also to use over the top to protect my other new rugs in winter.. I bought my boy a new wardrobe of Masta's, Weatherbeeta & Buccas rugs & he came with a couple of Kingshead rugs too, he's not a rug destroyer but the new pony now in his herd is & he likes to play with my boy.. I've only had my Masta torn up so far but that was an old one so not a big deal but I don't want my others ripped..so I just want a nice strong lightweight.. The amigo/Horseware ones looks pretty good..
