As above really. I think I may have an absess forming in my lower back. I had one last year but my horse was on loan last year at the time so I didnt have to ask this question. If it has returned I'm worried I wont be able to ride- but hoping someone here who has suffered the same can tell me how they dealt with it. Also did it affect your ability to muck out/carry things round the yard?

It depends -last time super duper strong antibiotics sorted it- bit the pain is back a year later- im worried they will have to lance it- and as its in an alkward place im worried i may not be able to ride- just wondered if anyone who has gone through it has managed to ride/muck out or was it too painfull?

When you say back - do you mean actually on the bottom (posterior) darling? I know someone who couldn't ride at all due to this when it was being treated but it was bad before the treatment too. It did heal up in the end, with treatment.

She was still continuing with her breeding stock, muck, household chores, children etc though.

That is not bottom I guess. I would think that if you have a nice quiet ride on your horse, you could do it! Probably not point to point training/high level dressage training though!

i had an absess in my lower back had it operated on 3 times.. it was packed daily for 5 months hell i still remember the pain .... if its as bad as mine was you wont be able to walk never mind muck out ! i hope your does not get worse !
