Can you show a horse that whistles/roars or has been hobdayed?

I have a 17.2hh hunter who is only 6 and has been found to make a slight noise in canter... he is unfit at present but I wondered if anyone can tell me how it would stand up to showing rules? He had a 5 stage vetting and was scoped (which showed normal abduction of the larynx at rest) which it probably would! Ive never had any experience of horses with this problem so would be grateful for any input...some people seem to think that you cant show a horse that has been hobdayed (which he hasnt as yet) but as yet nobody has told me a definitive answer. Thanks in advance.

This is w at HOYS (2nd fuzzy pic) complete with tie back
It hasn't held him back he has been successful in pretty much everything he has done (and competed under SHGB rules)
He will hopefully contending HOYS qualifiers again next year.
So please don't let it put you off he is turning out to be my horse of a life time and i am so pleased i didn't dismiss him due to his tie back

Apologies if the piccys are rather large

you might get asked to leave a hunter class if he makes a noise! Very common problem in big horses, but might improve greatly if you get him fit, worth getting fit before deciding on whether to operate. Ihave had horses that were hobdayed (went on to top level eventing) and tied back (dont swim them you will drown them!!) all lhad/have full lives in all disciplines and hasnt restricted them in any way. Enjoy, but check the relevant society rule book to make sure.
