Just looking at my mares pedigree on the HorseTelex.nl site and, under her name it says this-
XX/OX percentage : 42.96%

Can anyone tell me what this means as I do not understand it.

XX is another way of writing Thoroughbred, so I presume its her percentage of TB blood. I'm sure someone else will confirm or tell me I'm an idiot, but thats what I'd guess it as.

Thanks for that. Im afraid I have very little knowledge in all this breeding lark. So the % of tb? What is the significance of that? I mean what is the reason it appears on the pedigree?

Well the closest I get to TB lines is riding my OH's 16yr old ex racer....! I have ponies and one has TB about 5 generations back....!

I thought it may have been in Trakehners, as they will grade both TB and Arabs into their stud book? So if HTobago had been graded this year, and he is pure Arab, then his foals would have been classed at 'Trakehner' even though carrying 50% Arab blood.

Or am I wrong with that?

I'd be interested to know about that too maggie! I find it all very confusing.

We weren't ready in time to present Tobago for grading this year, unfortunately, but will be presenting him next year, I hope.
