Can you use boots or bandages over DMSO?

My horse has a splint and I am currently using cold therapy (ice packs) and rest. When I go on to using DMSO next with some limited turn out on a small area, can I boot or bandage when she is outside after using this on her skin?

I wouldn't personally as it would act like a blister...

no , you must leave it uncovered.

a bit different but my vet gave me DMSO and it was a complete waste of money
