Can you use Lister clippers on anything other than horses?

I've got a set of Lister Liberty clippers and wondered if you can shave a dog with them? I've got the 1.4mm blade but I dunno if that would be too short for a dog?

I personally wouldn't use them on a dog as they're too big - if you can get hold of some Wahl horse clippers you can use human comb attachments to alter the length. Alternatively flair trimmers will do the job provided it's not a hugely thick coat.

I always used Wahl on my springer, I did use lister once but found them a bit cumbersome to get to the fiddly bits and also a tad too loud.

I use the exact same clippers to clip out our old english sheepdog, she takes ages with smaller ones and as long as your careful the dog wont look like a skinhead!
