A lump has grown on dogs front foot, just above the toes. It has come about in 2 weeks and is now quite obvious. He is on/off lame. We thought he had banged it at first with the limping. He is just 1.

Vet was away last week so we are booked in tomorrow. I am now pretty worried as it has grown continuously for 2 weeks, what else could it be?

This dog (very stressy/nervous personality) would not survive with 3 legs, it would not be the kindest thing for him :( .

Hoping I am just thinking the worst...

How old is your dog? My old lady had a lump on her back foot, had a fine needle aspirated which showed a haemingiopericytoma a grade 1 soft tissue sarcoma. Unfortunately the vet couldn't remove it all but scooped out as much as she could without causing the dog to be lame. I was told it would return in 6 months, 9 months later no sign of any lump and maya is still bouncing round like a 3 year old.
I suggest you have the vet do a biopsy and go from there. Good luck

My mum's pointer lost two toes over the years, never bothered her one bit! My rott lost a leg - and again, copes remarkably well.
