Love it! Ignorant question (I've never owned lurchers/greyhounds) so I apologise, but why do they have two collars on?

Ah that’s a thing I have inherited from the charities they were adopted from - the coloured thinner collars are ‘house collars’ and have their ID tags attached, they wear those 24/7 in case they escape at home or anywhere else really. There are mixed views about the safety of them, but I put my lot in them when I read about a newly adopted greyhound that had jumped out of a CLOSED ground floor window ? and was on the loose in Bath (I think it was) with no way of identifying him! George also needs one really, I’ve just been lazy and not sorted it out....
For the hounds the broader leather collars are just to walk in - George has to wear a harness because he has a partially collapsed trachea and wheezes like a seal, so it’s not good for him to wear a collar as he also pulls on the lead the whole time ? Little sweetie that he is ??

what happens if they all see a rabbit? do you ski on the mud 
i can remember how strong my old lurcher was if she saw a deer and she was just one!!! i am an oldie so you are likely to be much stronger and steadier on your feet than i am...but 4 plus a half, i salute you...

in all honesty it can be difficult at times- especially with the boys who are 32kg and 38kg respectively - luckily they are not great chasers ? The lurchers are a different matter ???

They are well over 100kg combined weight, so I have instilled expected standards of behaviour ? There have been two occasions I can remember recently when other dogs have upset them, once Ace nearly pulled me off my feet by doing a swift 180 degree turn to go after an annoying loose dog and the other time the two boys started fighting when a loose dog had upset them - separating them with 3 other dogs also on the lead with me was interesting ??
